Current PLT Placement (unpaid work experience placement) – Djinda Service
We are seeking a law graduate for a volunteer PLT placement commencing in February 2019 to work across WLSWA but primarily in Djinda Services.
The role will entail:
- Assisting Djinda Service lawyers with clients and legal tasks on files (drafting court documents, letters, meeting with clients as appropriate and liaising between services to provide holistic service delivery) including working with clients to complete court documents with oversight from lawyers.
- Attending court with Djinda lawyers to assist take notes, filing documents and supporting clients where appropriate. Our Djinda lawyers are in either the Family Court of WA or Children’s Court of WA most days.
- Assisting lawyers with clients and legal tasks on discrete matters for WLSWA
The Volunteer Law Graduate will ideally have experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and in the community legal centre or not for profit sector, a desire to work to improve social justice outcomes and ultimately share the values of WLSWA and what we are trying to achieve.
